Drive to Pingwu, visit Bao'en Si temple. It is a Buddhist Monastery, the history of it date back to the 15th Century. The temple is famous for its glazed roof tiles, the same tiles were used for the Forbidden City in Beijing. With a size of 278 by 100 meters, it is one of the largest Buddhist temple in Sichuan. Then drive to Jiuzhaigou.

Drive via Ruoergai to Langmusi, passing through the endless steppe, inhabited by Tibetan nomads who move from place to place without rest. The famous war-horses were bred in Ruoergai by Chinese army. Arrival in Langmusi, visit the Taktsang Lhamo Monastery (Langmusi Si).

Drive to Gansu province. In Hezuo visit Milarepa Monastery. Late in the afternoon arrival in Xiahe, capital of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (2900 m). In Xiahe, you will visit Labrang Monastery, the most important monastic center on the northeast border of the Tibet region after Kumbum Monastery. This monastery was bulit in 1710, it is one of the Six-Pillar monasteries. It has been used over centuries as a connection between Tibetan and Mongolian Lamaism.

Drive to Tongren, visit Longwu monastery of Gelukpa sect which was initially constructed in Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) as a monastery of Sakya-sect and Wutun village the center of Tibetan Regong-Art, which is a successful mixture of religion and folk art.

In the morning drive across over Sun-and-Moon mountain (Ri Yue Shan) to Koko Nor Lake (Qinghai Hu). In 641 Wencheng princess of Tang Dynasty passed by this mountain where today a sun-pavilion and a moon-pavilion are built on the summit for people to have a break.
