Chengdu – Yaan – Luding
Drive along the Dadu River to Danba (1900 m). The local people in Danba are called Jiarong (Gyarong) Tibetan. Danba is clqined to be the Kingdom of Thousands of Ancient Blockhouses. Visit of the ancient block towers in Suopo. They were made of clay and block and look fine from outside with solid thick walls. Then visit of Jiaju village. Luding – Danba
Drive via Bamei, Tagong and Xinduqiao to Yajiang. On the way visit of Tagong Si (Tagong Monastery), where you can admire a panorama of holy Yala Mountain (5820m) in a distance on fine days. Then transfer to Xinduqiao, a small but important town at the juncture of the North and South Sichuan-Tibet Highway. If the weather allows, we can explore the main peak of Mt Gongga (7556m). Late in the afternoon arrival in Yajiang.
Danba – Bamei – Tagong Si – Xinduqiao – Yajiang
Drive over the Jianziwan Pass (4658 m) to Litang (4014 m). Arrival at Litang which is also known as "highland city". Visit of Litang monastery lying in the western suburbs of the city. The monastery was originally under the control of the Bon religion but converted into a Gelug Sect monastery in 1580 in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644) by the third Dalai Lama. Keep driving over Mt. Haizi Shan and pass by Daocheng to Riwa, where the highlight of this journey is - Yading natural reserve
Yajiang – Litang - Riwa
Full day exploration of Yading natural beauty. Drive 30km to Longlongba – the entrance of Yading Natural Reserve. We start the trekking at Chonggu Monastery and proceed to Xiannairi Mountain with the mysterious Dumu Lake at its foot. Then trek to Luorong Cattle Farm, which is located among Yangmaiyong, Finally back to Longlongba and drive back to the hotel.
Riwa – Yading – Riwa
Drive via Daocheng, Xinduqiao and over Zheduo Shan Pass (4298 m) to Kangding, the capital of Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and an important juncture of Tibetan and Han People in history.
Riwa – Daocheng – Xinduqiao – Kangding
Drive to Luding and crossing through the 4.1 km long tunnel of Mt. Erlang Shan to Yaan. Keep driving along Chengdu-Yaan Express Way back to Chengdu.
